5 Reasons why you SHOULD travel

I went on a solo trip to Malaysia, I had no plan for action, but with only one purpose in mind, to see if I could do it and yeah maybe discover myself.  I met a German girl, she was on the same flight from Singapore and also the same bus from the airport to Kuala Lumpur. Her name is Eva, she was already in the bus and the seat beside her was vacant so I asked if I could sit beside her and with a big smile she said yes and the rest was history, and yes we're Facebook friends if you have to ask. I've spoken to several people like her who embark on such trips and I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be a participant.

So here's why...

We all go back to Love

I witnessed love. I saw how love can heal even the deepest of wounds. I know because I’ve experienced it first hand. A sight too painful to bear but you gotta keep smiling because you have to be strong for them, because you gotta tell them It’s okay, and that this too shall pass. But you know it’s not enough, it will never be enough. The onslaught of Yolanda did not stop these kids from smiling and giving back only what they can give, a “Salamat te”, it means Thank you. And then you realized it’s not really them you’re helping, it’s yourself, reminding you that love and only love is the one thing you can hang onto. Love is the very constant thing and it's the greatest you can give to people.

To the sponsors who made it possible for us to help thank you. You’re money, every penny is reaching to the right people.

Don't stop looking!

So often we live our lives just for the sake of living it. We don't exactly know how but we just do it, day by day we try, sometimes harder just to get through the day. Carpe diem, such a common phrase for the onlookers, YOLO for some, these have become our usher to living the life we think and most of us thought we are suppose to live . We are so focused on "living" that we forget how to be a human being, we forget that we have a purpose, each and every one of us. And because of this undiscovered purpose we try to fill the void by doing the things that will only cost us more, invite more circumstances leaving us broken. When something so unthinkable happen,  this will either put a person back to perspective or the other way around. These happenings, no matter how awful they may seem brings with them new beginnings and so many second chances in any area of our lives. The result will now depend on how we respond to each and every occurrence. Some get it fast but some will need more time, but actually, after a very long time, if it keeps going, these eventuality will in due course shape the person. You don’t realize it at first but it’s happening, it happens every second. You now feel life for the first time, love, the sense that you belong somewhere and to someone very devine.

I thought wrong, you probably have too

In Wikipedia, Typhoon Haiyan, known as Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines, was an exceptionally powerful tropical cyclone that devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines, in November 8, 2013. It is the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, killing at least 6,201 people in that country alone. Haiyan is also the strongest storm recorded at landfall, and unofficially the strongest typhoon ever recorded in terms of wind speed. As of January, 2014, bodies are still being found. It has already been two months since the typhoon, ever wondered what happened to the survivors? Most of you have I know, you just don’t forget a happening like that, no one ever will.

arise, shine Pinoy

Living means you got a purpose to serve, responsibilities, a life that is never your own and around you, people to love

Daan Bantayan Kids

It was one of the most powerful recorded storm to make landfall. It tore through the center of the Philippines, where many people were just beginning to recover from an earthquake. The effects of the storm, still being assessed as teams reach cut-off communities, have been catastrophic.

When something like Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan happen you can’t turn a deaf ear, you just cant. Silent faces and tired eyes in the television will get you thinking, what am I still doing here sitting comfortably when all the world is doing all it could possibly do to help? The heart will now cause you to action, the soul in one accord with the spirit and the body will have no choice but to act like a puppet on a string. One act of kindness turned viral, got everybody dancin’ to the tune of Love, Lord bless them. Beautiful, this is what happens when Love moves, you simply can’t refuse it’s call. This is what brought us here and what will keep us going.
